Laurel FC Gators Alexandria Soccer Kick-Off Champions!

Congratulations to the Laurel FC Gators on winning their U12 division in the Alexandria Soccer Kick-Off Tournament!  The girls won the championship on penalties!  Great effort by all of the girls!

 

2017 Spring Break Soccer Clinic

A program focused on technical training, gameplay, and maintaining physical fitness as the Spring season starts. This camp will be open to middle school and High School aged players. Get professional training and advice to add to your game in order to give your best performances over the course of the season. The camp is designed for players to perform at the edge of their abilities (technical,tactical,mental,and physical) so players must be prepared to give maximum effort each day.

Dates: April 10th - April 14th

Price: $210 non-Laurel Soccer Club Players/$150 for Laurel Soccer Club players

Time:  Mon, Tue, Fri at 6:00-8:00 pm and Thu 7:00-9:00 pm

Coach Andrew Banadda currently works with Laurel Soccer Club travel teams where he coaches a u13 and u15 Boys travel teams. The teams have been very successful in winning tournaments such as the Bethesda Premier Cup, Mclean Tournament, and winning NCSL/EDP divisions. He is also a assistant director with Arrington Training & Development where he oversees Coaching development and coordination of various programs under ATD. In addition to youth soccer, Coach Banadda is an assistant on staff with the Washington Adventist University men’s soccer program. In his first year, the team just missed out on conference play-offs in the Association of Independent Institutions conference under the NAIA. 

Coach Aaron Sherman currently works with Laurel Soccer Club travel teams where he coaches U9 and U13 boys travel team as well as coaching high school varsity and junior varsity soccer at Washington Christian Academy. The teams have been successful, with the high school winning the 2016-2017 PVAC League and Tournament and being runner up in the MCST State Tournament. More recently his u13 Laurel Boys won the Columbia Fall Classic Tournament. He has experienced playing soccer in the DMV area from high school, club, college and USL.

U15 Laurel Lions Attending 2017 Donosti Cup in Spain

The U15 Laurel Lions is partnering with Premier International Tours to participate in the 2017 Donosti Cup held in San Sebastian Spain. This is the first international tournament the team will partake in and one of the biggest youth tournaments in Southern Europe with approximately 400 teams across multiple age groups. The Donosti Cup tournament headquarters are located in and around the Estadio Anoeta, the stadium of Real Sociedad. Many of the games are played at the official training complex for Real Sociedad with 4 grass fields, a small stadium and 1 artificial field. In addition to participating in the Donosti Cup, the team will also tour Barcelona Spain visiting Camp Nou Stadium and receive training from pro club RCD Espanyol. The team is looking forward to a fantastic experience on both culturally and on the sporting front.

U14 Laurel Tigers Rush for the Cup Tournament Champions!

Congratulations to Coach Bob Gac and the Laurel Tigers on winning their division in the Rush for the Cup Tournament.  It was the team's first games on a full-size field.  Great effort by the girls!




LAUR Real Barsa Tryouts 2005-2006

LAUR Real Barsa is looking to add some players for our NCSL 2005 and 2006 teams.  We practice at: 4425 Garrett Park Road Silver Spring MD, 20906.  They are held from 6pm to 7:45pm, we are a family oriented team that practices and plays soccer year round.

  • Summer : we play summer soccer league in Gaithersburg MD
  • Fall - NCSL 
  • Winter practices indoor in Olney MD and play indoor soccer at Germantown soccer plex
  • Spring - NCSL

Laurel Strikers FC Strikers Boys U-14 and U-15 (2003 and 2002) Tryouts

The FC Strikers have openings for boys U14 (2003 birth year) and U15 (2002 birth year) soccer players for the fall 2016 season. With the age group changes going into effect this fall, we are splitting into two teams that will play in the National Capital Soccer League (NCSL). We are affiliated with Laurel Soccer Club and practice here in Silver Spring at Sligo MS, Glenfield LP, Argyle Park, and other local fields. Our professional coach, Brandon Daniels (bio below), has a positive coaching style and a philosophy that focuses on player development. The best way to understand our team is in the players’ own words:

Brandon Daniels currently coaches several youth soccer teams in the National Capital Soccer League (NCSL) through the Laurel Soccer Club. Daniels was previously a member of the West Virginia University’s men’s soccer program coaching staff, running training sessions, conducting video analysis, and coaching on game-day. He also assisted with the team’s soccer camps as a staff instructor, where he organized technical/functional training session for elite level players.
 
Daniels obtained his National Diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) in 2008. In the spring of 2009, Daniels coached the West Virginia United U-17 boy’s team to a PA West Premier B League Championship and a West Virginia state cup semifinal appearance. The New Orleans native earned a bachelor of arts in political science in 2006 and a master of science in athletic coaching education in 2008 – both from WVU.
 
Daniels played for West Virginia University, was a member of the Lafreniere Select Soccer Team, a three-time Louisiana State finalist and a member of the Jesuit High soccer team. Daniels also helped lead his squad to capture the Louisiana State championship in 2002 and was a member of the Lafreniere Super Y-League Team that won the Gulf Region championship in 2001.

Rising U13 (2004) Laurel Knights Tryouts

The Laurel Knights (part of the Laurel Soccer Club, www.laurelsoccerclub.org) are a rising U-13 travel soccer team with players from Silver Spring, Takoma Park and Kensington in need of 5-6 additional players as we make the transition from playing 8 against 8 to 11 versus 11 starting this fall (and lose a few players who no longer can play on the team due to the US Soccer age group changes that go into effect starting this fall).

 

Players on this fall’s team must be born between January 1-December 31, 2004.

 

The Knights are currently playing this spring in Division 4 of the National Capitol Soccer League (team pages at http://laurelknights.teamsnap.com and

We are looking for a number of hardworking, committed and team oriented players. Our professional coach, Brandon Daniels (bio below), has a very positive coaching style and stresses both building individual skills while focused on team-oriented play. The boys also have an opportunity to train with older players also coached by Brandon Daniels.

 

The team practices 2 times per week in the Silver Spring/Wheaton/Kensington area (and currently at Glenfield Park in Wheaton).

FC Strikers Rising-U14 (2003) Boys Tryouts

The FC Strikers are looking for Boys U14 players (birth year 2003) for our upcoming 2016-2017 NCSL season. 

Tryouts will be held on the following three dates at the Glenfield Local Park in Silver Spring MD (12800 Layhill RD, Wheaton MD 20906).

U15 Girls Academy Premier 2K Back-to-Back WAGS Division Champions

Congratulations to the U15 Girls Academy Premier 2K team on winning their 2nd consecutive WAGS division title in 2015.  The team entered WAGS in the Fall of 2013 as a new U13 team.  After 3 seasons of player development, the team won their 1st WAGS division title in the Spring of 2015.  As a Division 4 team in the Fall of 2015, they ended with an undefeated season to capture their 2nd consecutive division title.  The team is looking forward to Division 3 in the Spring of 2016.

In 2015, the team played 18 WAGS league games winning 14, losing 1, and tying 3.  In those games, they scored 57 goals and allowed 11 for a goal differential of 46. 

Congratulations to the players, Coach JR Taylor and Coach Sean McFarlane for their hard work and commitment.
